Video Games Are Great For Society To Grow

26 Mar

Video games play a vital role in society, however some people choose to forgot that video games have that power. People should start accepting the concept of games being tools of success and enrichment for people and the ever progressing society.

What about Tetris, a simple game of organizing blocks,  that game gave us different ways to do some creative things. It was fun to find out how to fit blocks together, and to perform under pressure when every thing was speeding up, that reached many people and challenge them in ways that others things couldn’t.

I believe that some of people today get the idea of video games as making many of our generation lazy and unproductive, but it is far from that concept.

And there are games that are not just about simply killing things and shoot others. Look at the walking dead video game, it was a great game not because of all the action and the killings that was happening, but it was a rich story that taught morals and showed what humans are capable of.

There are always going to be haters saying that video games influence  some of the younger generation that violence is right and that desensitizes violence but what about violent movies, violent books, violent comic books. Does violence through just make it more worse and ten times more influencing than those mediums.

But we humans create that market for violence, but does it really make us blood thirsty people. No it doesn’t, because those things are for entertainment.

But that is just the outside looking in, there is much more than games than meets the eye. They can give tools to further a society.

And one of those things can be helping society , It does sound sill by they have the ability to do so.

What about what Nintendo did with the Wii, it brought families and other people together. The Wii helped cultivate and create relationship’s like never before.

Games give kids outlets where they can express themselves in different ways that other mediums can not provide.

They can help teach important skills like creative thinking from many games like Plants vs. Zombies, the many games in the Pokemon series, and games in the Elder Scrolls universe.

Games’ can have the ability to spawn interest in arts, technology, science, and philosophy. I really learned a lot from The Walking Dead video game, the morality of decisions I make for the group of survivors I was managing, all the humane and inhumane things that were represented in the game really gave us a lesson from what is wrong and right.

Game are have an immense impact on us, whether we like to admit it or not. They can help generations to come with the skills and wisdom that we need for the real world.

PlayStation Network Trophies Coming To PSone and PS2 Classics

21 Mar

PlayStation 3 owners will be getting trophies to their PSone and PS2 classic games in the near future. Information was leaked about Sony filing an application for a patent that would give trophies to  PSone and PS2 classics games back in Sept, 19, 2012.

According to Neogaf, the method or apparatus will give trophy support to games that in the past didn’t include trophies. The potential method and apparatus will be used to detect disk access, used the detected disk access as potential trophy triggers in games, and recognize the triggers while the game is played.

The problem with giving trophy support to a game was that developers of the original game would have to make some alterations to that game. For the developer that cost more money and time because they have to go through the process of being certified again.

This new technology will make it easier for the creators of the original titles to give trophy support to PSone and PS2 Classics on the PS3.
